What does theme mean to you? Your mixed media cards doesn't have to have the new year theme -- as you can see, some of the mixed media card girls went beyond "new year" in their cards. So have a go at it. We'd love to see your takes on this month's theme.

2. Display the challenge graphic on your blog post and link back to this challenge post.
3. You may enter as many times as you want, as long as each entry is different.
4. You may combine a maximum of 7 challenges (6 other challenges plus ours).

6. We'll announce the winner and highlights on January 31.

I used Flutterby stencil from STAMPlorations with Soft Gloss Gel (to have a resist effect) and i made the background with Glimmer Mist (Dragonfly) on watercolor paper. The sentiment "Happy new year" in french is from a french company Kesi Art

Gelli-plate panel using acrylic paints, glitter card frame, acetate, sequins, washi tape, Distress Ink watercolouring.
Marbled Stains Technique on blue panel using Distress Paint and Distress Stains, white embossing paste with star stencil, stamping, raised panel and deer, sequins, stitched edge circle die.
Resist canvas colored with Distress Paint, Color Bloom spray mist, Inka Gold, and gold watercolor paint. Die cut globe and "2016", stenciled "peace" with white PITT artist pen and clear sequins
Background is made using stamped images, colored texture paste through stencil and distressed edges. Dressform chippie colored with shimmer spray. Dress is made from layered lace trim. Pearls and paper flower embellish dress.

Versamark with Perfect Pearls, heat embossing, die cuts.

I created this card using sequins, stencils, washi tape, Versamark Watermark Ink, Onyx Black Pigment Ink, stickers and I used the heat embossing technique

On the background there are die-cut hears under a wrinkled sheet of tissue paper, glued down with gel medium and covered with gesso. Misted with red color, and decorated with stamping and sewing around the edges.Black images are heat embossed using black glitter embossing powder.
Stamped the background, partially die cut a snowflake and added a partially die cut heart window. Stenciled on some Gesso mixed with translucent metallic silver embossing paste. Added die cut paper and vellum flowers and sequins and a vellum shaker window with more sequins, a snowflake die cut and a heat embossed sentiment.
Background Distress Inks/Dylusions Sprays. Stamped using versamark and white heat embossed. Using a stencil and texture paste created the dots on the left and added clear sequins to those dots. Stamped New Year.
